Sorry it’s taken me so long to write this post, as i know halloween has been over for a few days now, but i had to share my costume with you.
My inspiration came from Ingrid Bergman in “Casablanca”:
But no one would know who i was, it was too obscure. I needed something extra….Or just the opposite. Instead of adding something, i could take away something: color.
So after thifting all the pieces, and buying tons of grayscale make-up, it was all worth it:
(Look closely: these are NOT black and white photos) It went from Casablanca to just a 1940′s black and white movie star, but i still loved it :)
This was only what i did on Saturday for our pre-halloween get together. On halloween, i was my alter-ego, a goth bohemian gypsy:
This was super fun to do–i loved the black lipstick way more than i should have…
Anyway, it was a success; easily the best halloween costume i’ve done so far. Then, of course, there’s the pumpkins:
I used a “Cinderella” pumpkin (The short, wide ones, kinda a peachy color) and in the Cinderella theme, i carved a clock…very difficult, but roasted pumpkin seeds after were rewarding.
Anyway, i just wanted to share some of my halloween ideas from this year. I thought they went really well.
Happy Halloween!

Ove your creativity.
Meant to be love
I ‘love” the 1950′s black and white casablanca outfit! You look truly like someone in the movies in the 40′s! You are amazing! Love and miss you! Nanny
